Darci Greenfield, Director of Compliance

With more than 15 years of experience in financial crime risk management, Darci has led thousands of investigations and collaborated with law enforcement agencies across North America. Her analytical expertise enables her to identify root causes, detect emerging trends, and design proactive strategies that strengthen governance frameworks, ensure regulatory compliance, and protect organizational reputations. She is a certified Canadian Financial Crime Professional and Financial Crime Compliance Specialist. 

Darci is an experienced leader and strategic project manager, having directed complex, multi-jurisdictional initiatives and enterprise-wide compliance programs across global teams. She has built and led high-performing investigative and risk management teams, overseeing program implementation, regulatory remediation, and large-scale risk assessments from concept through execution. Her leadership approach emphasizes clarity, accountability, and defensible decision-making in high-stakes environments.

A skilled educator and communicator, Darci has trained thousands of professionals worldwide to identify, assess, and mitigate fraud and AML risk. Her practical, risk-based methodology translates regulatory requirements into operational reality, enabling organizations to strengthen resilience in the face of evolving financial crime threats.

In addition to her professional work, Darci serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for UVIC Pacific Coast Swimming, where she contributes strategic oversight, governance leadership, and organizational development expertise to support youth athletics and community growth. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Canada with her family and finding new ways to enjoy cheese.

Penny Robertson, Director of Operations

Penny brings a proven track record in project and business management to her role as Director of Business Operations at Soteria Protection. Originally trainined in heritage conservation, Penny developed a strong foundation in governance, risk awareness and stewardship-principles that continue to shape her approach to compliance and operations today.

With over 15 years of experience across tech and financial services, Penny has a deep understanding of the importance of anti-money laundering, compliance, and practical risk management.

She is known for building strong, trusted relationships with clients and for her ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical, accessible solutions.

Penny has a clear vision for expanding Soteria Protection’s services and products across a wide range of industries, ensuring organizations of all sizes can access effective, proportionate compliance support.

Outside of work, Penny enjoys spending time with her family. She loves travelling, cooking, hiking, and paddleboarding.

Adam Chernenkoff, Director of Technology

Adam, CTO

Adam brings over 18 years of experience in business analysis and software development, working across industries including tourism, education, and governance organizations. Throughout his career, he has played a key role in developing and supporting software that processes financial transactions, with a strong focus on security, reliability, and risk mitigation.

Adam has a natural ability to connect with clients and understand the broader context of their operations. This perspective allows him to translate complex technical considerations into practical insights that support Soteria Protection’s compliance and risk-management solutions. His background ensures that technology decisions are aligned with real-world business needs, regulatory expectations, and security best practices.

Outside of work, Adam enjoys spending time with his family, baking sourdough, hiking, and giving back to the community. He currently volunteers as Director of Technology for Pacific Coast Swimming.
